The first and only school in Marofijery, built between 2016 and 2017, had just three classrooms which only allowed attendance until the 3rd year of primary school (a 6-year cycle), after which students were forced to stop going to school.
We financed the construction and furnishing of three additional classrooms to allow students to complete the primary cycle. Construction work began in the spring of 2021 and the three classrooms were ready for the 2022-2023 school year.
Total project cost €31,290.
Per quanto riguarda la mensa scolastica, attualmente gli alunni mangiano i loro pasti seduti a terra. Gli abitanti del villaggio hanno costruito, con materiali locali, una cucina temporanea e un riparo che permette ai bambini di mangiare protetti dalla pioggia e dal sole. La costruzione è molto rudimentale ma essenziale e funzionale.
