The project includes the construction and furnishing of a kindergarten classroom. The village of Ankilimalangy has a population of about 1,000 inhabitants, 55% of whom are children under the age of 13. The village currently has only one primary school with three mixed classrooms (shared between two levels), each of which can accommodate 50 pupils. With more than 500 children to educate, the learning conditions are particularly difficult.
To avoid overcrowding, classes are organised in shifts, reducing the teaching time for each group. In addition, some classes are held outdoors, without walls or a roof, exposing the children to the weather or high temperatures and making learning even more difficult. Faced with this situation, the construction of a new classroom, especially for pre-school children, becomes indispensable. This would distribute the children better, lighten the classrooms and create an environment more conducive to learning from an early age. Such an infrastructure would also offer greater safety and a more suitable environment for young children, facilitating their integration into the school and their development.
Starting in the 2025-2026 school year, all children have been able to enjoy a better learning environment thanks to the new classroom.
Total cost of the project:
classroom construction -+ 8,130€
purchase of furniture +- 1,720€ (35 desks, 35 benches, 1 teacher’s desk, 1 chair, 1 cupboard)
